From the Flaming Idols 'Luminaries Collection'.
Sylvia Rivera was a Gay Liberation and transgender rights activist. She was also active with the Young Lords and the Black Panther Party. Along with Marsha P. Johnson, Syliva formed STAR - Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries, which offered advocacy and support for homeless queer and trans youth, as well as engaged in political activism.
